Terms of service

Last updated: 1 October 2026

GarageVivo is provided by GMSoft di Gatti Matteo, Contrada Ponte Tavole 3/C, 62014 Corridonia (MC), Italy. VAT IT01953870431, REA MC-270129. Certified mail matteo.gatti@gigapec.it. Using it means accepting what follows.

1. Definitions

Application: the GarageVivo mobile application. Service: the Application together with the public passport pages served from garagevivo.com.

Company, we, us: GMSoft di Gatti Matteo. User, you: the person using the Service.

Application Store: Apple's App Store or Google Play, from which the Application is obtained. Third-party services: anything the Service connects to that we do not run, Strava among them.

2. Acceptance

Using the Service means accepting these terms and the privacy policy. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

You accept them when you sign in, where the Application says so under the ways in, and we keep which version you accepted. When they change in a way that matters to you, the Application asks you to accept the new version before you go on, and you can sign out instead.

3. What GarageVivo is

A place to record what has been done to a bicycle, and to show that record to somebody else.

It is a documented account, not a certificate. What an owner writes is their claim, and the Application labels it as such. We do not inspect bicycles and we do not verify what is entered.

It is not a theft register, an insurance policy, or proof of ownership, and it should not be relied on as any of those.

4. Your account

One account per person, through Apple, Google or a link sent to your email. The Service is not directed at children under 14: if you are younger, use it with a parent or guardian.

You are responsible for what is recorded under your account and for the device you leave it signed in on.

Whoever registers a workshop declares that they may act for the business it belongs to. What they do for the workshop in the Application, the choice to appear on the public passport included, is done in the business's name. The verification checks the business, not the person.

You may close it at any time from inside the Application.

5. Price

Today the Service is free: everything available in the Application is included in the Basic plan.

As the Service grows, some advanced features may require a paid plan. We will tell you in the Application and by email at least thirty days before a feature you use becomes paid, and nothing is ever charged unless you choose a plan yourself.

These stay free for as long as the Service exists: registering a bicycle and its history, signing and confirming work, reading your own history, reading a public passport, handing a bicycle to a new owner, and a workshop's name on the public passport when it chooses to appear. What you have already recorded stays yours and stays readable whatever you choose.

6. If you ever buy a plan

There is nothing to buy today. When there is, it is bought inside the App Store or Google Play, which take the payment and hold the subscription: what they say about refunds and cancellations applies as well as what follows.

As a consumer you have fourteen days to withdraw from a purchase, without giving a reason, by writing to support@garagevivo.com. If you ask for a paid feature to start working straight away, you are agreeing that the fourteen days end as soon as it does, which is what the law asks us to tell you before you agree to it.

A plan is cancelled where it was bought, in the store's own settings, and cancelling stops the next renewal rather than the one you are in.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service unlawfully, do not attempt to reach data that is not yours, and do not interfere with how it runs.

Do not record a bicycle that is not yours to record, and do not use the Service to misrepresent a bicycle to somebody buying it. That is the one misuse this product exists to make harder, and it is the one we will act on fastest.

Do not declare a bicycle a customer's when it is not, and do not give us an address its owner did not give you to be contacted about their bicycle.

Do not upload anything unlawful, defamatory, or infringing somebody else's rights.

Do not upload nudity or sexually explicit content. A photo may be checked automatically before anybody else sees it. One that does not pass is hidden and, unless we find it was a mistake, deleted after fifteen days: if you think it was, write to us. Whatever breaks these rules is removed, with the reason shown where it was.

To protect the Service, reasonable usage limits apply, the same for everybody: how many bicycles one account holds, how many photos and documents a bicycle carries, how many files an account uploads in a day and how many records a workshop signs in a day. They are never sold and no plan lifts them. If one gets in the way of real use, write to us.

8. What you record

What you enter stays yours. You grant us permission to store it and to show it to whoever you share a passport with, and nothing more.

A record cannot be deleted once written. A workshop can withdraw its signature while nobody has answered it, and in the Application the record stays visible as withdrawn, never on the public passport: a history that can be pruned before a sale is worth nothing to the person reading it.

A record a workshop signed waits for the answer of whoever held the bicycle when the work was done, with no deadline. It becomes certified only when they confirm it, never because nobody answered. A week after they were last told about it we remind them once, and the workshop can ask again, at most once a week.

We may remove content that breaks these terms.

9. Signatures, confirmations and handovers

A record signed by a workshop becomes certified when a second party recognises it. For a bicycle a person held, that is the person who held it when the work was done, by confirming it; holding the bicycle later gives no say over work somebody else had done. For a bicycle a workshop held, it is the person the workshop hands it to, by accepting it and not contesting the work within seven days. Either way it is the same word, and the Application says which of the two it was.

A workshop is verified when we have read a chamber of commerce extract carrying an ATECO code for the repair or sale of bicycles and checked its VAT number. It is a documentary check of who the business is: free, never tied to a plan, and not a guarantee of the work the workshop does. Only a verified workshop's signature can certify a record. Approving a verification also approves the workshop's trading name as it reads at that moment, and a misleading trading name is a reason to refuse it.

A workshop chooses whether its name appears on the public passport beside the work it signed that has been certified. Whoever runs the workshop makes the choice in the Application, where it is offered during registration, and can change it at any time. Until it chooses, the default applies: the name does not appear. It applies to the signatures that follow: a record carries the choice that was in force when it was signed, and changing it later does not touch it, in either direction. The name is the trading name approved with the verification; if the trading name changes after the verification, it appears followed by the legal name in parentheses. By choosing to appear, the workshop accepts that its name stays on those records as part of the certified record, also after changing its choice, changing its name or closing its account. If this clause changes, the choice made before it no longer applies and the default applies again until the workshop chooses again. Whoever confirms or receives a record always sees which workshop signed it, whatever the choice.

In the Application the person who has a bicycle on GarageVivo is called its owner; here we call them its custodian, and their hold on it custody, because GarageVivo does not establish who legally owns any bicycle. When you hand a bicycle to another person, custody and history pass the moment they accept, and for seven days either of you can undo it. Documents pass only if you choose them; what you paid never does.

A bicycle can pass to a workshop. With a verified workshop it enters the workshop's lifecycle: the work the workshop records on it asks nobody to confirm, is marked as recorded by the workshop, and is not shown on the public passport until it is certified. A handover from one workshop to another certifies nothing.

Whoever receives a bicycle from a workshop is shown, before accepting, every record the handover would certify, and for seven days after accepting can contest each of them. A contested record stays in the Application as contested and never reaches the public passport. Only work signed while the workshop was verified can be certified this way; a workshop that had asked to be verified before signing, and is, counts as verified for the work it signed while it waited.

A workshop that is not verified can receive a bicycle only from a person, cannot sign work on it, and can only give it back to that person until it is verified.

Some features are available only to some workshops. Where a feature is not active, the rules about it do not apply. The registration at the bench is one of them: a workshop can register a bicycle GarageVivo does not know, declaring it its own or a customer's. The declaration is the workshop's and the workshop answers for it; we do not check it, and we keep who made it and when.

A customer whose bicycle a workshop declared receives an invitation, and can accept it, say the bicycle is not theirs, or say they are not interested. Accepting is final: the bicycle is in their garage and leaves it only by a transfer. An invitation nobody answers expires after thirty days, and until somebody accepts, the bicycle has no custodian and nobody can publish its passport. Once they accept, the customer can say whether the bicycle was at the workshop for the work of the visit in which it was registered, and the workshop has fourteen days from the acceptance to sign that work.

10. Intellectual property

The Application, its design, its code and its name belong to the Company or to its licensors. Using the Service grants you no rights over them.

11. Third-party services

Strava is optional and governed by its own terms. We are not responsible for what a third-party service does, nor for it becoming unavailable.

12. Termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why unless the law prevents it.

You may close yours at any time. What happens to your data then is described in the privacy policy.

13. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, nor that anything recorded in it by somebody else is true.

The passport is evidence a reader can weigh, not a guarantee anybody stands behind.

14. Limitation of liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited, including for death, personal injury, fraud, and the mandatory rights of a consumer. If you are a consumer that sentence comes first, and the next one cannot be read against it.

Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you have paid for the Service, or to one hundred euro where you have paid nothing.

15. Governing law and disputes

Italian law applies. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the mandatory protections of your own country still apply to you.

Write to support@garagevivo.com first: most things are settled that way, and we would rather settle them that way.

If that does not settle it, a consumer in Italy may take the matter to a conciliation body on the register the Ministry of Enterprise keeps, before a court or instead of one. The European ODR platform is not named here because it closed on 20 July 2025.

16. Changes

These terms may change. The version on this page is the one in force, and continuing to use the Service after a change means accepting it.
